Combination pliers proves as useful helper

09/16/2016

Everything has to work flawlessly in Disney's The Lion King, and once repairs have to be made, everything must be ready for the show and for the audience. The Stage Theater in the harbor on the AIDA Musical Boulevard awards these contracts partly to external companies, such as the team of Thomas Graubaum Metallbau from Steinburg, which has been taking over tasks and projects in the theater for years. Thomas Graubaum always has his emergency kit with selected tools at hand. New in this set is the combination plier "ErgoCombi" by NWS, which has since proven to be a practical helper for many tasks.

"Actually, there is always something to install, adjust, tighten or cut here," says Thomas Graubaum, who always takes great pains to ensure that his tool lives up to its promise over the long term. Also, the new pliers from NWS took some time until it was finally recorded. "I have the impression that terms such as" ergonomics "are included too quickly in the product descriptions. You probably only realize that when the pliers are used frequently. Since we use these pliers again and again and always different, we hardly notice. In this case, however, we agreed that the pliers must be health-friendly, because the tendons and joints are barely stressed, especially when subjected to greater stress due to the ergonomic shape. The wrist and forearm are not cramped or bent when working with stress, and the hand stays in a natural posture. "

But more important, according to Graubaum, is the function and the durability of the pliers. "In the weeks since I have the pliers, it shows that the grip surface is absolutely resilient and has hardly any wear. I noticed also the good power transmission when gripping the workpiece and that the handles are well in the hand, if you have to access more firmly. But we were totally surprised at the first test in the workshop that this relatively light pliers easily cuts harder wires with a diameter of 1.5 mm and also keeps the cutting surface stable and intact. "Tool specialists like Thomas Graubaum and his colleague Jörg Gerckens, take the issue of quality very seriously because in their opinion good tools usually have their price and the value then pays off in durability. Gripping zones for flat and round material are used intensively and then come into their own. "From the ergonomically angled head, through the integrated ring spanner, to the handles with SoftGripp - there's a lot of good thinking and because it's so practical, this pair of pliers found a constant place in my pocket."
