Tool Tethering System

08/20/2019

For improved safety in the workplace

To provide increased safety in the workplace, we are expanding our range of products to include a tool tethering system for pliers with SoftGripp handles. Thanks to a number of different attachment options, the tether is also compatible with other tools.

Tools that drop from the hands of craftsmen working at height not only disrupt work processes and cause delays – they also pose a serious danger to people and objects below that can be hit by falling pliers, screwdrivers and the like, especially when working on roofs, scaffolding and on construction sites. This can result in severe personal injury or costly repairs. The new tool tethering system available from NWS prevents such accidents and increases safety at the workplace.

Tools always attached to the professional's person

Thanks to the elastic safety line, which links the tools to the craftsmen, the tool always stays attached to the person, even if it accidentally slips out of their hand. The safety tether has a carrying capacity of up to 4.5 kilograms and a user-friendly radius to ensure comfortable working. Further items in the range provide additional working convenience and safety. The adapter loops and metal carabiners with safety clasps included in this set enable several tools to be attached to the safety line at the same time, ensuring fast, safe tool changes. The metal carabiner provides a secure connection between the tether line and an attachment point, such as a tool belt.

Extensive tool connections

The tool tethering system offers three options for a safe connection between the tool and the safety line. Where a tool has a hole in the handle, the cord of the tether or adapter can be pulled through and fastened as a loop. The set also includes key rings that can be connected to a tether line and a tool. However, the most convenient variant is the SystemClip, which is compatible with all NWS pliers with SoftGripp handles. Like the key rings, the SystemClip forms a secure connection between the tether line and the tool. The advantage is, though, that it can be easily detached from the one tool and clipped to another as required. This eliminates the need to remove the key ring or undo the loop.
